There was a window in the attic and it was
closed. If the window were opened it would allow birds to fly into the
s':ructure and nest, also it would expose the attic to the elements such
a: snow and rain. Opening the window wculd not suffice for ventilation of
the attic since there is no other vent in the attic to provide cross
ventilal:ion necessary to eliminate condensation.
During the inspection I noted a great deal of condensation in the hnbitable
areas of the house indicating a lack of ventilation in the habitable areas
of the residence.
Ventlation of a structure is necessary to prevent condensation which in turn
would prevent one cause of wood rot ofi structural members and deterioration
of electrical systems.
Should you have any questions regarding this inspection please feel free
to call me at 259-8745.
Yours truly,
L.
