Nistorically, this area has had a problem with an insufficient numUer <br />of parking spaces. In a memo dated April 27, 1981, the City Traffic <br />Enpineer listed 25 City involvements with members of tLe ncighborhood and <br />businesses whirh related to parking problems in this specific area. <br />2. In the past, �:ommunity meetings have been held with neighborhood <br />commitments b}' the residents and businesses to try to reduce parking <br />congestion. IVe feel that it should be the City's responsibility <br />to do their part in reducing the parking congest?on. A parkir.g variance <br />would work in :he opposite direction of alleviating the neighborhood's <br />highest concern. <br />3. On April 6, 1981 the Board of Adjustments denied a parki�g variance for <br />a project that was half this size at this location. The problems forscen <br />at that time could be double with the approval of a variance. <br />The applicant �ray want to iio a traffic study investigating increased parking U� <br />installing anglr� parking on Noyt Ave. A variance that includes increasing tlic <br />on-street parking so that the total spaces added meets code requirements would <br />not be objected to. <br />� / <br />
