Doors to the exterior m�v have a maximum 8" step to a minimum of 36" deep landing. <br />The step and landirg size should be indicated on the plans. <br />CONSTRUCTION <br />7. Weather protection such as waterproot building paper should be shown. <br />8. The floorjoists should be at least 18" above the under floor grade. <br />9. Under Floor girders should be shown at least 12" above grade. <br />10. The designer should show that all waod plates and sills on concrete or masonry �vhich is in <br />contact with earth, should be pressure-treated wood, foundatian grade cedar o; redwood, all <br />marked or branded by an approved agency. <br />1 L All exterior columns, beams and joists that are exposed to the weather should be pressure- <br />treated. <br />� i 12. Individual under floor concrete picrs should project at least 3 inches above exposed ground <br />unless the columns or posts are treated wood. <br />`� l3. Wood girders entering masonry or concret.e should be provided with'/" air spacc on sides, <br />r tips and ends unless treated woud is used. A detail should'oe shown. <br />� � 14. Where the under f7oor vents are installed in the rim joists, a detail should be provided <br />showing a baffle beneath the insulation, sloped at 30° Gom the top of the vent. <br />15. The wooden foundation plates should be pressure-trcated. <br />16. Safety glazing should be shown for the windows adjacent to front door. Section 2d06.5 <br />17. AIl glazing within a 2d" arc of cither vertical ed�e of aIl doors (in the closed position) <br />should be shown as safery glazing. The specific location of all safety glazing should be <br />indicated on the plans. Section 2406 <br />13. Any glazing in the shower, bathtub doors and enclosure or Jacuzzi should be safety <br />glazina. Section 2406 <br />19. The designcr should note on the plans, "Firc blocks shall be provided to cut off all <br />conceuled draft openings, from vertical to horirontal spaces, includin� the stairs, tub, <br />shower, fireplace, etc." <br />ROOF & ATTIC <br />30.
