Kirk Brooks
From: WILLIAM PURDY [abcwalersper,ialtyinc@verizon.net] !
Sent Tuesday, January 10, 2006 3:57 PM / I I `
To: Kirk Brooks

Subject: drainage on new property
 : I .
Kirk Brooks ✓ e.
Develupments and Permits euilding Official ; 5' ''J' ' -
' C '
cc: Larry Crawford y,c
Chief Administrative Assistant ; 'l ,
Our property is located at 12 East Intercity Ave. in Everett.
1,Ne are very concerned about the drainage changes caused by construction on the 4 lot development
on ihe West side of our property.
Tle back yards and side yards of these lots have been rased approximately 2 feet above the original
grade of the property.
i do not believe the raised grade of the back yards of these lots was included in ihe original lot
development plans and thus this increased grade would not have been taken into account in the
planning stages for this development with requardd drainage.
This raised grade on the new development slopes toward our property.
This is causing an increased amount of rain water to rur off the new development and onto our
property.
VVe talked with Mike at Blue Ridge Construction (!he contractor building the house on the new
development) and he said he was going to put a ro<,: retaining wall on the property line common to
our property. If he does this it will stop earth from flowing on to our property. However the rock
retaining wall will not stop water drainage on to our property.
We request that tlie city take steps to ensure that the lot development does not cause increased
drainage in to our back and side yards.
We would suggest a solid concrete retaining wall be built between our tvo properties that would stop
' water from ilowing onto our property. This retaining wall would have a drainage system that would
catch the water flowing toward our property and then take it to the existing storm drain system that
has been installed in this development.
Please advise of your intended action by Monday January 1 G.
Enclosed are pictures of the four loi development on the West of our propeily (12 East Intercity
Avenue, Everett) that show the raised grade.
l,'1 li?Oli6
