The largest opening is 7'-0". The header picks up <br /> the upper floor joists. Atter review,the 5-1/8x12 GLB is adequate. No additional corrective measures are <br /> required. <br /> For the ledger you would like to use a 1-1/S"x 14 OSB rim. The new joists will be supported on the rim <br /> with Simpson top mount hangers ITS2.37/14 or equivalent. End reaction of new joist is 570 Ibs. Hanger <br /> design capacity is 1550 Ibs.
