Mr. Ebert made a motion to approve the variance request but limiting the height to 18 feet. There was no second to the motion. After further discussion, Mr. Bennett again restated his motion to approve the variance as requested. Mr. Ebert seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor of granting the variance. Mr. Bat�helor stated that the porch is on the north and the steps get very slippery and cwo elderly people have slipped on the steps recently, so they wish to cover the porch. His home sits back further than the other homes on Saratoga Lane and even with the variancP he will still have a qreater =etback than the others. The neighbor to the east cannot see the addition from their deck and there is no visual impact to other homes on the street. There was no further testimony for or against the :ariance.
