Bus Barn Project
Utility Calculations
Dear Dan:
Attached are stom drain and water/sewer use calculatiois for the proposed
C.T. bus barn project.
The drainage c:lculations follow the City of Everett methods for determin-
ing storm drainage rim-off and storage. A przliminary 24" by 36" site
plan is also included for your reference. For our design the detention
pon3 will also act as an oil/water separator. Since my iast discussion
with you, we ;7ave determined that we can store the entire 25 year storm on
top of the amotmt needed for oil/water separation. It is my imderstanding
that this sheuld save C.T. regional detention charges.
The expected water/sewer use for all Phase I buildings (except bus washer)
is as £ollows:
Peak Peak Peak Average Averag2 Average
Inst. Hourly Daily Daily Monthly Voltme
Flow Flow Flow Flow Flow Use/Month
75 gpm 49 gpm 32 gpm 13 gpm 8 gpm 28,000 c.f./month
'1'he bus washer will be the mc.jor water user on s;ite. The washer is a
recycle Lype which reuses its water to wash sub<_:equent buses. In this
mcde, 25 gallons of make up water wi11 be requii•ed after each washing to
replenish rster lost from carry off by the buses;. If the recycle system
is down, the washer can also operate directly from the water supply
system. In this mode it takes about 100 gallons to wah one bus with each
bus taking about one minute to wash. This method would only be used in
case of an anergency.
r
1 - , -- . , . C' C. . ( + 1- - ll.. 7
.i
_ l )02
l
1917 First Avenue,Seattle,Washingto9610' 12061 427-5300 Teles 15?770 Y.Ch,1PF
r
