The Kasch Purk industrial waste sysiem is draining into an industrial waste pretreatme�t vault(see <br /> Civil Engineering drawing &heet C3.01). This pretreatment vattlt (sand/oil interceptor) is acting as <br /> a large vented trup, Thetefore, there will be no sewer gases in tlie industrial waste systetn, <br /> 2• Tha waste downstream of the pteueatment vaiilt is then pumped into sanitary sewer line. <br /> Therefore, che indus:rial waste system is not directly connected to the sanitery sewer system, <br /> 3. It is a standard practice in service stadons and parking structures fot garage drains to be without <br /> vaps whcn draining into a vented sand/oil interceptor, <br /> 4. 17�e Kasch Pa�k's maintenance crew Will periodically wash down the floors around the trench & <br /> floor drains, The traps on floor and trench drains will hinder the flow of the induslrial waste. <br /> 5• The maintenance bays are well ventilated wl5ere the trench and floor drains are located. <br /> 6. MacDonald-Miller Co. has had mu(tiple installations such as Kasch Pazk, where we did nol have <br /> traps on drains connected to a vented sand/oil interceptor. None of d�e jobs had any problem. <br /> We at MacDonald-Miller Company see no need for traps on the industrjal waste floor and trench <br /> drains.
