_--___-__ -- - _ _ .--
about the future of the properr that we checked the
Uuilding department for appL .ions that week for fear of
what might be coming next.
We were surprised to learn that the triplex was
mferred to as a duplex in ihe application. The structure has
three doors, three mailboxes and thme electric meters; it is
listed as a triplex in the assessor s records. A check of the
microfiche indicated the 1979 building permit and
certificate of occupancy were for a duplex.
The planning department told us R-3 zoning
requires 1500 square feet per apartment. The plans list the
]ot size as 5,198 square feet, well short of the necessary
6,000 square feet. We also _
have a hard time q -F
understanding how the , r ' ` , = `,,T
parking lot could Ue '''`
configured for eight '"` " ; f,
spaces. x' r y,.'. £ s`
+ , b
a x " i 'vll,...i
We are concerned ' '"5' """'
that the plan to pave the " '',, ., :
alley will cause departing ,"'°rc -`
cars fiom the back four - .-< -` . „' =
spaces to go west down s , y
the alley, a nanow and `'__
. ,.. We worry that the basement
unit could be re-occupied after the certificate of occupancy
is issued.
We hope that the planning department will decide
that this applicaHon does not meet their code requirements.
We feel the need to keep abreast of the permit process in
case tllere is an atEempt to reoccupy tte building as a
triplex.
While we realize the permit process is not suUject to
puUlic review, we would Iope the input of the
neighborhood about the question of density would Ue
considered along with the square footage statistics.
- <-:..-- — -
