Existing <br /> stairway is currently 40" and we would propose that this existing stair width <br /> be maintained. <br /> (2) Regarding the landing at the base of the stairs, per �sction 3306(g), landings <br /> are required to be oI equal dimension to the width of the stairs. However, <br /> because the existing stair width was 40" and required stair width is 36", you <br /> felt it would be acceptable to maintain the minimum 36" landing width in <br /> ti�is situation, due to existing wall layout limitations. <br /> To summarize our situation and solution, we will be providing a 36" landing at the <br /> base of the stairs with a stair width of 90" (matching the existing) the full length <br /> of the stairs.
