Hcwever, the available <br />sewer pipeline is a pressurized pipcline (Southend intecceptor)• Tlierctore, a pun;p system will need <br />to be installed on private properry to litt sanitniy se�vage into tkie Southend Interceptor. <br />The pump system will need �o be ciesigned to overcome tLe e�isting pi•ess«ce in tlie South Incerceptor <br />and tlie higher pressiu�e that will occur in tlie hitw•e when the interceptor is uperatiiig at its tull <br />design capacity. ln addition, a check valve system will be required to prevent blcl:t7ow ot sanitary <br />sewage into private side sewers. <br />T'he connection to the Southend Interceptor will need to be made wliere !he interceptor is ductile <br />iron ar where a pre-fabcicated connection to the interceptor has ueen provided. A pre-fabricnted <br />connectiun is availabl� un Laciruer Road witkiin appcoximately 200 ieet of your parcel. <br />'I7;e connecticn to the Southend Interceptor will be providec! by the Qty. However, a ptan r�ust be <br />developed b} the property owner and approved by the City betore the connection is made. In <br />addition, the prc,�erty o�vner will be required to pay the full cost ui tk�e cennection in advar�e of the <br />City pertorming tLe wock. Of course, a�iy �vork rec,uired on private prcperty, snch as puntps and <br />check vulves will b� at tl�e pcopecty owtters espense as well. <br />Finally, there are sewer conuection fees and a sewer permit fee tliat must also be paid in advance by <br />the groperry owner. Currently these fees ace $314 (assuming a 1000 to Z000 sq. ft. single tamily <br />honie) and $70 respectively.
