Based on observations diiring our site reconnaissance, and our
understanding that the proposed residence will have a minimum 60 foot setback from
the top of the steep slope, it is our opinion the sile presents : relatively low hazard to the
proposed structure, provided 1he recommendalions in this eport are followed.
Site Observations
The subject property is located on the west side of Larimer Road in Everett, Washington.
It is our understanding that the proposed construction is ro consist of a single family, one
story, moduiar residence, Iocated near the cenlral portion of [he lot. The property is
currently vacant. The topography al the site dips to the east at an inclination from
approximately 15° to 20° for about 170 feet and then descends to Larimer Road at an
inclination of 45° for 20 vertical feet. The adjacenl properties to the north and south of
the subject lot have similar slope configurations.
Vegetation on [he site consisted of mainly field grass and blackberry blshes. A[ the time
of our visit, we did not observe obvious visuai indications of slope instability, such as
fresh soil exposures, areas of hummocky topography, scarps, tension cracks, say
ponds, excessively curved or knocked-over lree Vunks, or unexplainable vagetative
anomalies.
Subsurface Conditons
During our sile visit, we explored lhe subsurface soil conditions at lwo localions vith a
rubber lired backhoe. Test pit (TP-1) -as located at the west end of the residence
while TP-2 was at the east end.
Suhsurface soil conditions at TP-1 consisted of approximately 1 foot of sofi topsoil
overlying medium dense, silty sand with gravel (weathered glacial till). At a deplh of 1.5
feet below the existing surace, hard, very sandy, gravelly clay (unweathered clacial till)
was encountered for the full depth of the test pit, 6 feet below tne ground surface. At
TP-2, conditions were identical except the medium dense, silty sand extended 6 feet
?age 1 of 5
