� <br />August 29, 1996 <br />�Udl/L' I�YO/2Kr' <br />ESTILL Property Managers <br />2518 Roy St. <br />Seattle, WA 9ffi&9- 9 �I/�� <br />RE: 2509 I.exington Ave., Everett, WA 98293 <br />It was recently brougli[ to the attention oi the City of �verett, Building Inspertion <br />Division that the building situared at diis address has a serious problem concerning the <br />lack of a guard rail on the exterior of the building a[ the lower level of the premises. <br />An inspection of the problem was conducted and it was noted that the cemented area <br />be[ween the buildings and next to the steps leading to the lower units of the buildings, <br />is approximately five feet from the walking surface of the lower levcl. There is no <br />guard rail arour.d the cemented area next to the steps. <br />According to the Uniform Building Code, a guard rail shall be used when a walking <br />surface is higher [han 30 inches off the floor below. The area oP concern is sudi a <br />surface, and may accidentally be used. This situation is considered dangerous. <br />Your immediate attentio¢ is rc�quired in correcting these conditions. This condition is <br />considered dangerous to the healdi, safety, and welfare of die occupants, as noted in <br />the Uniform Housing Codr, and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous <br />13uildings. <br />Any work conducted to correct diis condition may require permits.
