PUBL/C N/O/Kri
p

Febmary 4',2002
Gerald 11►ompson
313 Heather Rd.
Everett,WA 98203
Subject: Dischazge of footing drain water(groundwater)to Ciry street
Deaz Mr.Thompson:
Today I met you at your residence at 313 Heather Road. You aze experiencing water in your
crawlspace, which you aze collecdng and pumping to a dry-well system alongside your
house. We.liscussed pumping this water to Heather Road, instead of to the dry-well system.
I said I would write you a letter giving you the pemussion to do so,afrer I had checked here ,
in the office to be sure that your pumping the water to the street would be acceptable. I
You may pump the footing drain/groundwater to the street, provided that the water enters the I
cutb line ty gravicy flow. This means that the pumped watr must 6rst enter a small h;sin i
located on your property, neaz the curb, that is set at an elevation that allows the water to
gravity flow from the basin into the street. An example of zn acceptable basin would the
plastic yard drains found at hazdware stores. You may need to remove and replaNe a small
section of curb to provide drainage through it.
If you have any questions, please call me at 425-257-8885.
Sincerely,
i

Jan Zigm , P.
 D
C: ICirk Brooks, Engineering and Public Services FEB Q $ ?002
..ClTy ............
FOineeriO pblSRE es...
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax(425) 257-8882
