A %<-inch thick, steel plate both sides of
the joist are required (sce detail 1). When the distance from the bottom of thejoist to the
bottom of the pipe is less than 2-inches, detail 2 must be used.
1-loles drilled near the center of the joisL located 1-foot from the support are structurally
acceptable.
Notched joist 2 '/-inches dcep on Uie tension face, near the electric panel is structurally
adequate. A '/" diameter z 6" lag screw must be installed 6" in front of the notch (toward
mid-span)to eliminate crack propagation.
The ceiling joist, nail laminated'-0" in front of the support, are structurally inadequate.
Sister a nev, ful] -span ceiling joist against the existing joist and nail laminate widi 16d
spaced at ]6" o/c (staggered).
If there are any questions about this report or if I can be of any further assistance, please
feel free to call me. ";
>15 COY"j'f.,i
er t o n•s, '5,'^,oF WSHi,'1' `►
 -  ;`` Ca O Fy3.
Chris Co mg on, P.E. > — .
 ,,sa e,i ;
\ F : `:',
s/ r;«;;.;i
CW+1
.11p1 A2 m
 :. , , :  ,=_, _ -, Yo
't  S I'IKiCi.l❑
