Bennett's ataff in Community Development that the Building Gode requirementa as it relates to the awning y were explained to your deeigner and building contractor on several � occasione, The firat occasion was when your contractor took out the building permit in early January. It should be explained also that as a matter of practice, the City works almoat exclueively with designers and buildere, rather than the owner, Most ownera don't understand code requirements and don't wish to be bothered with auch details. You are evidently ' the exception. In March when you took out the applicat?on for the permit to place the cylindrical vertical elements in the sidewalk area, we should have recognized that you were an exception and concentrated our effortE on working with you.
