You are directed to begin immedi-
ately the installation of a manual fire alarm system in accordance
, with National Fire Protection Association Pamphlat No. 101.
This pamphlet is the Life Safety Code and the requirementa for
fire alarm systems in apartment buildings are spelled out in
Section 11-333. In addition to the installation of the minimum
required manual fire alarm system, we would strongly recommend
the installation of automatic smoke detectors in the common areas
of the building. We feel that extra arecautions are warranted in
this instance in considering the age and mobility of several of
the tenants.
The installation of the manual fire alarm system is to be completed
by March 19, 1976.
/ i [z
Walter H, Cooper
Fire Marshal
WHC:dd
