There were several places
where I noticed extention cords used for lighting etc. that were
too small, deteriorated insula[ion are concealed bchind furniture
or simular means, that could support a flame from overload or
shorting. Through the basement and garage area there are numerous
junction boxes open with no cover that could result in flame spread.
Thcre have been recent installations of bx and romex neither of
which are allowed in Fire zones 1 and 2. These should either be
removed or installed in condui[. I made no attemti to go through
the apar[ments, but the tenants should be warned abou[ the dangers
of fire from excessive use of extention cords.
Would you please have the other violations corrected and let us
know when we can make a re-inspection:
Yours truly
L. J. Daugherty
Electrical Inspector
LJD:eb
