This investigation should include a lateral <br /> analysis of the existing structure which indudes all of the structural <br /> calculations. All structural elements must be shown to be in compliance with <br /> all of the strucmral requirements of the 2003 IBC. If the lateral force resisting <br /> systcm falls short of all 2W3 II3C Structural requimments, it must be shown <br /> that the system will meet thc requirements of one of the mentioned alternate <br /> codes. If the existing system cannot meet the criteria of the chosen alternate <br /> code, the building would he required ro be retrofitted to meet the criteria of <br /> the same alternate code of choice. Structural design and detailing would be <br /> requircd for such a retrofit.
