August 4, 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett Board of Adjustment was called <br />to order at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers by Chairman <br />Robert Graff. Members present were Mr. Cronin, Mr. Baird, and Mr. <br />Bartlett. Mr. Berg was absent. <br />The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed <br />jr with. <br />A hearing was held on the application of Can -Am Brokerage, Inc. <br />(i. Colin Tassin), 1200 Westlake Avenue North, Seattle, Washington, <br />for a variance from Chapter 19.40 Everett Municipal Code (Off -Street <br />parking and loading requirements) for permission to establish a <br />restaurant in an existing business building and provide a maximum <br />of twelve off-street parking stalls (existing) rather than the <br />minimum of 82 parking stalls as required by Code. <br />Legal Description: Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 697 - Swalwell's <br />First Addition: 3120 Hewitt (Castle <br />Tavern). <br />Zoning: C-2 Heavy Commerical - Light Manufacturing. <br />Mr. Chuck Burgess, representing the Can -Am Brokerage Inc., told <br />the Board his firm planned on restoring the exterior of the <br />building and to convert the interior to a dining area and cocktail <br />lounge. <br />Mr. Burgess also said that the off-street parking was established <br />in the lower Hewitt area, long before the present parking require- <br />ments were established. <br />There were no objections from the audience. <br />After considering all the facts it was moved by Mr. Cronin, <br />seconded by Mr. Baird and unanimously carried to postpone the <br />applicant's request for thirty (30) days for further study. <br />A hearing was held on the request of D.A. Duryee and Company, <br />2721 Wetmore, Everett, for a variance from Chapter 19.08.010, <br />Everett Municipal Code, Land use Paragraph B for permission to <br />construct two (2) single-family dwellings on land each to have a <br />minimum of 35.02 feet of frontage abutting a public dedicated <br />street. The code requires a minimum of 40 feet of frontage. <br />Legal Description: Lot 7 and South 1/2 Lot 8, Block 4, <br />Shore Acres - 5025 & 5027 Sound Avenue. <br />Zoning: R-S Suburban Residential <br />
