In order to familiarize ourselves with the existing building, Mr. Budden and I made a brief inspection at the site the morning of January 9, 1985. We were impressed by the size and complexity of � the buildinq layout, conveyor system and amount of goods stored in the buildings. We were also struck by the complete lack of exits from the buildings which conform to the Uniform Building Code and the hazard that creates for your employees in case of fire. As a result of our visit, we informed Mr. Danta that before we vrould issue a permit for a proposed addition between existing buildings we will require you to submit a complete set of existing condition drawings. The drawings should include plans for each floor of each building at a scale of 1/8" = 1'_p", ptus at least one building section cut in the east-west direction which should describe wall and floor construction. After receipt of this information we will be able to work wlth you to determine reasonabl^ measures to pro- vide adequate life safety for the occupants of the buildings.
