The <br />International Building Code and the International Residential Code provide that all permits <br />expire by limitation if the work authorized by the permit is suspended or abandoned at any time <br />after work is commenced for a period of 180 days. If you wish to prevent the permit from <br />expiring without documentation of completion, you may: <br />1) Request an inspection of work that has occurred, to document continuing progress, <br />or 2) Request final inspection if the work is completed. <br />or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension, detailing justifiable cause for <br />extension. <br />Please respond within 10 days. .After that time the file will be sent to our Records Department <br />for microfilming without final approval.
