The Uniform Suilding Code provides that all permits
expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work
authorized by permit is not commenced within 180 days from tiie date such
permit is issued, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is
svcpended or :.bndoae3 at any time after the oork is ccmmenced for a period
of 160 days. rls the permit liolder, it .is your responsibility to call for
all required inspections while work is in progress and to call for final
inspection when the work is cmpleted and prior to occupancy.
As your permit has already expired, the Code requires that a new permit must
be obtained and additional fees paid before you can resume work or call for
final inspection. However, the Cit7 of Everett is at this time extending a
one-time grace period to holders of recently expired permits. If you wih
to tecommence work you may renew your permit at no cost for an additional
180 day period by submitting a wriCten request to this office. The renewal
request must reach us by April 30,1989. If the work has been completed, you
may call for final inspection uefore April 30th. Any corrections required
must be completed and final approval obtained before that date. Permits
that have been neither finaled nor extended by April 30 1989 will expire.
You may mail or deliver written requests to our office at 3200 Cedar Street,
Everett, W1 98201.
