TO: Bob Overstreet, Council President <br />FROM: Marian Dent, Housing Inspector <br />DATE: October 23, 1980 <br />SUBJECT: Summary of 5711 Highway Place <br />In March of 1979 a request was made for a relocation <br />inspection of the house located at 5711 Highway Place; <br />the request was submitted by Jules VanDerMeersche. <br />An inspection was made and approval for relocation was <br />given. There were no permits issued for moving the <br />house, but it was taken from its foundation and set on <br />timbers in preparation for the move. This was done <br />sometime in May of 1979. <br />Due to the P.U.D. strike in June of 1979, the relocation <br />of the house had to be aborted. <br />iIn <br />December, 1979 a 10-day letter was sent to Mr. <br />VanDerMeersche stating abatement of this house was <br />necessary. <br />March, 1980 - There were legalities pertaining to the <br />A <br />ownership of the house. <br />June, 1980 - It was determined that Jules VanDerMeersche <br />owned the house. <br />August, 1980 - It was determined np the City Engineering <br />Department that the house could not be moved unless the <br />roof was removed. Mr. VanDerMeersche refused to remove <br />the roof and stated he was looking for property close to <br />where the house is now located. <br />September, 1980 - A title search was requested and the <br />owners of the house established. <br />October, 1980 - All interested parties were sent Notice <br />and Order of the City of Everett Building Official indicating <br />all violation;i concerning the house and the matter being <br />placed on the cnuncil agenda. <br />
