I found it strange that windows that were not broken in some rooms
were setting wide open to air the rooms. The temperature outside
at the tme was in the 30's. We had just walked through some
heavily frosted grass outside.
There was soRe obvious structural and electrical work goin9 on in
the building. At this point it is difficult lo tell if there is
repair work being done, removal taking place oi• addition going in.
I could not ask any questions of Mr. McY.ee with him in the state of
mind he was in. It only aggravated him to hear me talk so I kept
quiet.
Each r om entered that was being used b Mr. Greene for habitation
prposes had an electrical space heater plu99ed in and working.
torm Vanderpool did not stay for the entire inspection. I did not
have my circuit tester at the time of the inspection and aas unable
to determine if the outlets were properly g•ounded during the
inspection.
When oie returned to the main entry way of the building 11r. McY.ee
continued to put me down to my superiors concerning the mannor in
which I was inspecting and that I would not do exactly as he wanted
me to concerning my entering areas of the building he did not wanY.
me in, taking pictures, etc. If I did stray a few feet from the
group he had Mr. Greene cone and get me.
Upon hearing Mr. McY.ee voice his objections I asked Ooug Dudden if
my presence vas needed for any further inspection af the building
and, if not, I was departing for another insection. Doug said
I could leave.
Upon leaving the building I could not open the frnt door. I could
see that it was not latched in any manner; there wrs only a door
knob in the door and nothing more. The doors and csirgs were so
deteriorated that there was daylight showing between 'he double
doors and when I follotved that to tle floor I could seE a piece of
wood approximately 2" x 4" x 3' bracing the doors closed as they
open in.
Larry Callahan said, "She can't get out." At that time I started to
slide the board to the side iith my foot and I heard h1r. Greene
say, "I 'll get it." I said, "I can get it OY, no•i'.' , meaning that I
didn't want to impose on him. 41ith that he reached down and grabbed a
wire attached to the board and yanked the board out of place. In
doiny so he said in a sarcastic way, "You never do anything you are
told to do, do you." I barely got outside the door ahen Mr. Greene
slamred the door with all his might. i hesitated a second , expecting
it to fall on top of ine, but instantly realized that the doors opened
in. I then departed the premises.
