The Uniform Building Code <br /> provides that all permits expire by limitation if the work authorized by the permit is suspended or <br /> abandoned at any time after work is commenced for a period of 180 days. If you wish to prevent <br /> the permits from expiring without documentadon of completion,you may: <br /> I) Request inspections of work that has occurred,to document continuing progress, <br /> or 2) Request final inspections of the work that is completed, <br /> or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension. <br /> Please provide the permit number when requesting inspections or extensions. Please respond <br /> within 10 days. After that time the file will be sent to our Records Department for microfilming <br /> without final approval.
