March 31, 2008
Mr. Paul Tessier
L&A Job No. 8A027
Page 16
RISK EVALUATION STATEMENT
The site is underlain at shallow depth by dense silty stjnd and hazd fine sandy silt soils. These
soils are of high shcar strength in their native undisturbed state and have excellent resistance
against slope failures. 1'roper erosion and drainage control is key to maintain site stability. lt is
our judgment that provided the recommendations in this repori are fully implemented and
observed during construction, the areas disturbed by construction activities will be stabilized and
remain stable and will not increase the potential for soil moement. It is our opinion that the risk
of dumages to the proposed development and Gom the development to adjacent properties due to
soil instability should bc minimal.
LIMITATIONS
This report has bcen prepared for the specific application to the subject project for the exclusive
use by the Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tessier and thcir associates, consultants, and contractors. We
recommend that this report, in its entirety, bc included in thc project contract dceuments for the
information oC thc prospcctivc contractors for thcir estimating and bidding purposes and for
compliance with the rccommendations in this rcport during construction. The conclusions and
interpretations in this rcport, howcver, should nol be construcd as a warmnty of the subsurface
conditions. 7'he scope of this swdy docs not incluJe services related to cnnstruction safety
precautions and our rccommcndations are not intended to direct the contractor's methods,
techniqucs, sequnccs or procedures, except as scitically described in this report for design
considerations.
Our recommcndations and conclusions arc based on geologic and soil conditions indicated on the
above-refcrcnced gcologic map and the soil conditions observed on the udjacent Reference Site,
our engineering analyses, and our expr;rience and engineering judgmenl.
