The site visit and assessment wa� performed on May 30, 2003. Site and Veaetation Descrintion The subject property is located in the northwestem portion ofi the City of Everett, in an urban area currently develop.=d with single and multi-family homes. The parcel is bordered by residences to the noRh and south, Grend Avenue to the east, and railroad � tracks to the west, at the boltom of the slope. The site topography is fairly level over the eastern portion of the lot, with very steep slopes to the west. Primary access to the site is via Grand Avenue. The site has been largely cleared of vegetation. Remaining vegetation on the property consists of a single Douglas fir(Pseudofsuga menziesii) near the northwest corner of the property (at the top of bank), and several big-leaf maples (Acer macrophyllum) present on the central portion and noRh end of the steep slope area. Shrubs present include Himalayan blackberry(Rubus procerus)and snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus). Soils in the project vicinity are mapped as Aldervuood-Everett gravelly sandy loam, 25- 70% slopes and Xerorthents. level. The Aldervvood-Everett soil unit is described in the Snohomish County Soil Survey (Soil Conservation Service, 1983) as being moderately to excessively drained, with a hardpan typically pre�ent irom 20 to 40 inches deep.
