These comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1991 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of Washington and /or Washington State Energy Code 1994, lst Edition, unless stated otherwise. ✓1. Due to the heigh[ of this building (3 stories) Ordinance 1902-92 requires the installation of an automatic fire sprinkler system and a monitored automatic fire alazm system. ✓2. Per table S-D this building must be of V-1 hour construction or the automatic fire sprinkler system may be used to increase the two story limit of V-N construction per sec. 507. The automatic fire sprinkler system could be used to eliminate the one hour construction per sec. 508. Please note that with either of the above substitution options the sprinkler system must be "throughout" the building i.e. a system meeting the requirements NFPA 13 (NFPA 13R systems do not meet the requirement).
