IBC 903.2.7 requires that the building b:; protectcd by an automatic sprinkler system. Por any non-protected door or window openings whatsoever on the north and south walls, [IIC 704.8.1 requires thc sprinkler system to be in accordance with IIIC 903.3.1.1. �vhich is an NPPA 13 System (not NPPA 13R). The intent should be includcd on thc plans. 2. Thc site plan indicates thc nortl� and south walls to Ue 5'-0" from the property lines. 'I'he tloor plans indicate some upper tloor walls to be 4'-0" front the property lines. IIIC 704.5 rcquires thcse walls to have a firc-resistance rating of one-hour that is rated for cxposurc Crom both sides. 3. Tl�e iloor/ceiling assemUlics are required to have a sound transmission class of not less than 50 and an impact insulation class oC not less than 50 in accordance widi IBC 1207. Please providc the assemUly construction detail and test agency identification number. 4. Thc stairway at the east end of thc building is required to be enclosed in accordance wiU� IBC 1019. The third floor storage room is not permittcd. Thc walls of this cnclosurc along with the other stairway and the elevator are required to Uc constructed as fire barriers with Gre-resistancc ratings of 2 hours. Thcse fire barriers are required to be continuous through concealed tloor/cciling spaces. The protection is required ro extend from thc top of the iloor she�thing to the undcrside of the tloor sheathing above (See enclosed I13C 706.4 commentary). All doors into the exit stainvay enclosures are required to iiave a fire protection rating of 1 �/z hours in acwrdance with IBC 715.3.
