2224 Grand Ac Pagc 1 of 2
Margaret McLeod
From: Suzanne Karr[sdkarr6@verizon.net]
Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2007 1039 PM
To: Spring Wathen
Cc: Gerry Ervine; Margaret McLeod
Subject: Re: 2224 Grand Ave
Dear Spring:
I do not wish to work off of someone else's notice to resolve the issues in question and expect the city to issue a new and
legally correct notice. Should there be an eventual need for hearing or other legal action, I beiieve I have a legal right to
know exactly the issues for which I am being fined. I have concern for potential violation of right to due process here. No
offense, but I have been badiy burned in the past by government because they failed to follow their own procedures, so I
must insist that the process be governed strictly according to law so as to avoid any misunderstandings.
I do not believe the notice I received in the mail on or about April 6, 2007 was written for my house at 2224 Grand
Avenue, in Fart, because there is no"overgrown venetation"on the rear of my property. If you saw any, I expect to be
provided some very specific indir, atien of the plants in question as the only large plants on my back property are forsythia,
Orange King day Iilies, flowering quince, an old garden rose and a concord grape vine. I do not consider any of those
items to be"overgrown vegetation" as they were planted specifically by me on my property. These plants do not pose any
threat of harm to anyone else ad are dwarfed in comparison to the"overgrown vegetation"that is often found across the
alley in the P-Patch. I am the primary founder of the P-Patch and love all the plants there and don't see why the city
seems to have such an aversion to green growing things.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Karr
----- Originl Message -----
From: Spring Wathen
To: sdkarr6@venzon.net
Cc: Gerry [rvine ; Margarel McLeod
Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2007 2:54 PM
Subject: 2224 Grand Ave
Suzanne.
.4s I attempted to communir, ate in my voice maii message to you yesterday, the notice you received did list the site
address incorrectly, however, the violations noted do relate to your property. The property owner of 2012 Colby did
receive a written Notice to Correct with the right information, address and case number.
The notice you received should have the site address listed as 2224 Grand Ave, Case Number. 07-0257. I have made
the necessary corrections in my file. If necessary I can send you a revised notice with the correct address and case
number.
I have attempted several times to contact you and Dave Hardy, leaving voice mail messages for both of you with this
information.
The notice of Apri! 5, 2007 advised you of discarded items seen on the rear property that will require removal and
overgrown vegetation that will need to be cut by 4-24-07. The notice further advised you of an expired construction
permit with no final inspections. You will need to contact the building division at(47_5)257-8810 to inquire of an
extension and schedule ail necessary inspections.
if you have any other questions please cali or e-mail i-e.
7hankyou )
i
1/19/2007
