HOUSING INSPECTOR REPORT
FROM: MARIAN DENT, HOS[NG INSPECTOR °
DATE: AUGiTST 5, 1994
SUBJ: 2232 GRAND AVE.
The owner of the property called today and said he had received a call from a man oa
Sat. or Sun. of ths past weekend statmg that i told him, the man, that I was going to
condemn the subject house next month and that it would be a good buy. The man sa►d
he had talked with me on Friday, which would have been Aug. Sth.
I informed the owner of the property that I never give such statements to the pi!blic as
this would not be unfair to the owners of the property. At any rate, 1 would never
consider such tactics when dealing with the publc.
I also informed the owner that I was in Idaho on Friday, Aug Sth, 1994 and I couldn't
have talked with anyone in Everett about this case.
About an hour atier the call from the owner of the property, a woman, she did not
identify herself, called and almost demanded that we take some kind of action on this
place. She statd that "he won't fiz it up as nice as we would" I advised her that the
owner had plans in process and that wc were working with him on this matter. She
said "He won't do anything and his other projects don't look very nice." She wanted
me to pinpoint a month as to when we would force the issue. I would not give her a
definite time, and explained once again that we were working with the owner on the
issue.
The woman spoke with a strong British accent. She said that sometime last year, she
and her husband hail approached the owner on selling the house to them. She said that
he asked them to make an offer. Apparently they did not make an offer but were
willing to so now ad wanted to know how nmch he paid for the house and property. I
direstod her to the County Assessors office.
