Ed 'Paylor with respect to
notice received from you with respect to the above
referenced Resolution, which Resolution advises him that
puruant to Uniform Building Code, 203 (d) you intend
to proceed with the work specified in the original notice
to ^7r. Taylor.
t-ir. Taylor is out of town and has contacted me by phone.
He does not have a cc+py of this prior notice but believes
that it was a notice to perform certain repairs on the
building in question. He has been advised that at the
council meeting Mr. Royce said the building should be torn
down.
This is to advise you 'that if you proceed with tearing
down this building , N.r. Taylor will look to you for his
damages . lie informs me that the building, as is , would have
a value of approximately $8 ,000. 00 , and he would Ue damaged
in this amount if the building were removed.
I am under the impression that ;4r. Taylor or a representati.ve
of his advised you that he was attempting to secure refinaiic-
ing from the FHA on this building and expected to proceed
with repair and remodeling of the building , in accordance with
I•'ItA standards , as soon as a}proval was received. This appli-
cation is being processed through Carro.11 Hortgage Company ,
who also has a mortgage on the property and will suffer damages
to their security if the building i:; removed. In view f the
foregoing, it would not appear wise for the city to proceed
with a demolition.
