I
PLANS FOR HOME IMPROVEMENTS page 1 of 2 pages
AILEEN M. LANCHANS
2630 GRAND AVENUE
EVERETT, WASHINGTON 98201
submitted to the Planning Office
on July 29, 1985
PLAN 1: FRONT YARD DRIVEWAY AND PARKING STRIP WITH ACCESS TO GRAND
AVENUE,
DETAILS: I am proposing the construction of a driveway off
Grand Avenue within the twenty foot (20') no parking
zone adjacent to the stop sign. This driveway would
lead to a parking strip in front of my house and be
just large enough for my compact car (5' x 13')
JUSTIFICATIONS:
1. I work at General Hospital of Everett in the radiology
department. At times I am on the late shift and at
times I am on -call for evening and nighttime emergencies.
I have a garage bnt I have no direct access to this
garage(see .):.agram). Thus it is important that I have
a space closer to my front door, Onstre:t parking
is not an adequate solution since it is at a premium,
and will more so be with the Navy moving in. Further-
more parking is limited in front of my house due to
the 20' no parking strip noxt to the stop sign. And
finally, there is a 72 hour limit to parking.
2. The driveway would not "take spaces" away from on -street
parking, as it would be situated within the no -parking
strip adjacent to the stop sign,
3. It would be safer for me when I am on -call, to -be able
to walk out of my front door and enter my car directly
in front of my house than to walk all the way around
the block to the dark alley or all the way down the
street to my car, on a street where there is insufficient
city lighting.
PLAN 2: GARAGE REPAIR
DETAILS: I am proposing the repair of my garage which is attached
to two other garages by common walls and roof and wbi.ch
are owned by my two immediate neighbors on Everett Avenue.
Although the garages have a common roof, and although
there is no "Joint Maintenance Agreement" among us,
the repairs would not affect the other garages. The
repairs include the following!
1) repair of hole in roof.
2)pour a concrete slab for a floor and entrance.
3) replace the garage door with an automatic/manual4007,f
which opens overhead,
JUSTIFICATION:
1. The garage is in bad condition. The neighbor's children
have created a hole in the roof which must be repaircJ
0
--+
m
