July 1, 2010 <br />Puecic woR�rs <br />RE: City of L'verett Ordinance 3127-09 Regulating Bxterior Building Maintenance and Street Level <br />Vacant Commercial Space in the Central Business District <br />Dear powntown Property Owner, <br />7'he City of Everett previously mailed property o��mers in the Central Business District (CBD) <br />information and a copy of this ordinance enacted by Everett City Council in September 2009. The <br />ordinance addresses mquirements for vacant commercial spaces :uid required minimum <br />maintenance for all buildings. <br />In an attempt to assist property o�vners in complying with this ord nance, a part time coordinator, <br />Barb Hardman, is overseeing the implementation and developme.0 of programs that may assist <br />property owners in meeting compliance. We are encouraging building o��rers to consider <br />working with artists, entrepreneurs, and communiry groups to activate empry storefronts and vacant <br />spaces by providing temporary storeGont space for no or low cost.
