Mechanical spot exhaust ventilatio�, ducted to the exterior, is <br />required in all bathrooms (50 cfm) and kitchens (100 cfm). Backdraft <br />dampers are required. <br />2 Outside air is required to be supplied into the conditioned space. <br />See ventilation requirements. <br />3. All structural softwood plywood, particle-board, wafer board, and <br />oriented strand boards are stamped "Exposure I" or "Exterior". <br />4. Water heater storage tank labe�ed as meeting ASHRAE standard 90A - <br />1980 or insulated to R-16. <br />5. Water heater storage tank must be placed on an R-10 pad if located <br />over uninsulated or concrete floors. <br />6. Insulate hot and cold waterpipes to R-3 in u�heated areas. <br />7. Shower regulations to limit hot water discharge to 2.75 GPM. <br />8. Heating ducts must be insulated to R-11. <br />9. Woodstoves and fireplaces have tight-fitting doors. <br />10. Woodst�ves and fireplaces have outside combustion air ducttd to <br />. firebox, with accessible damper. (Min. - 6 sq. in. net free vent area) <br />11. Fireplaces have tight-fitting flue dampers. <br />12. All gas or oil combustion appllances have direct vent or forced draft <br />venting. <br />13. Recessed lights are I.C. rated, double wall can lights. <br />14. 6 mil black visqueen ground cover in crawl space. <br />Air Sealing: <br />1. All plumbing, electrical and HVAC penetrations in floors, wall and <br />ceilings are caulked and sealed. <br />2. Where penetrations need a firestop, discuss with your building <br />department. <br />3. Electrical outlet and light switch boxes on exter9or walls must be <br />sealed at the back of the receptical or sealed with face plate gaskets. <br />4.
