Although it would be nice If thc
location was rlght on, a motorist would probab(y never notice the difference.
Unfortunately, what I didn't know wlien 1 was talking to you is that the catch
baslns are not in alignment with the curE, Our 5lalntenance and Operations
people tell me the curb overhang is too much and they cannot maintain the
system in Its present configuration. Therefore, before we can accept these
lmprovements, either the catch basins or the curb wIll have to be relocated so
that they are properly aligned.
t am sorry to have to tell you this, but as I said before, I was not aware at the
time we Were talking that the curb was out of al(gment with the catch basins.
Since I am retuming to San Diego, aould you please aork out corrective
measures with Dennis Gableman, our lead permtt inspector.
Sincerely,
HUGI-f kAR2EN, P.E.
Public Wcrks Dlrector/CIty Engineer
By: D,on N.Dacklns
Yubllc ServicPs Supervlsor
DND:jcl
cc: Hugh Warren
lierb Boushey
tiiarv Harlund
Tom Thetford
Dennls Gableman
Gary Banett
