Narrative statement for variance npplication <br />A. This appllcation is in req�iest for a variance to allow us to <br />bili.ld onto our h�me at 812 Grand Ave., Everett, Wa.. Presently, <br />we have a�rreenh�iise that eztends off our side porch to the <br />propertv line cn the n�rth side. `Phe greenhouse is deterlorating <br />iind wa �.vish to replece the �reenhouse with a familY room in <br />nddition to a solarium/spa and laundry room. Our proposal for <br />such e.:� additi.�n woulii lie three feet off the propert,v line on <br />the north slde of the house for which a varlance is required. <br />The nresent greenh�use extends to the property 11ne. <br />B. We have been concerned that the desiRn of our addltion be <br />such that St not interfere t�rlth Y.he fine view from the dining <br />room and Living room off the back and rear nortn side of the <br />house which is also malntained by other homes in the area. Spsce <br />requirement.s for the additlon on the north slde of our house place <br />it out near the propert,y line for which a variance is required. <br />C, There Ss already a structure in the form of � greenhouse on <br />the area to which the variance apolies. Granting the variance wlll <br />make no appreciable change in this regard and plans call for an <br />actual setback of three feet from the property line over the present <br />structure on the prop=_rty line. <br />D. We have a beautlful home and wish to ralse our famlly here. <br />One drawback to the present desian of our %�ouse is lack of a <br />designated family area away from the formal living room/dining room <br />for children to pla,y and entertain as well as serve Rs the center <br />for family entertsinment. Addltionally, the clothes washer and <br />clothes drver are in thP ifitchen rather than out oP the wa,y and <br />make laundr,y difficult. Denial of the varlance request would make <br />our house less livable for a growina family. <br />E.
