One, in order
to make the existing third (attic) floor habitable (because of
growing family size), the owner and the Architect have chosen to
add two dormered areas to the west end of the existing roof. This
will create adequate head ruom throughout a good deal of the third
(attic) floor. Two, keeping in mind the current cost of construction
it is econanically undesirable to add to the existing west end (at
ground level) and maintain the hane's original architectural design.
' It is our determination that single family residences on either
siue of the 300 foot subject property have under gone similar, if
-- -- - not the exact same alterations. We see, therefore, no reason not
to grant the residence in question the same privileges.
This variance shali in no manner limit existing panoramic views
from neighboring residences. One, because of placement of these
-• --- --• • residences on their properties and two, because proposed additions
to the west roof shall neither project past nor above existing
'_ __.__ '_ _..__. building lines.
Grantir.g of such variance will adversel, affect the
;Canprehensive General P1 q. e exisking residence shall remain
as a single famil,-weg'rfc . /
Narrative Statement Concerning Pending Variance
A variance is requested for installation of two new dormers out
of the existing attic space at the west side (back) of this house.
These will be at a height abov new zoning height maximum of
28 feet.
In reference to item one, the new dorniers will not extend above
the existing roof line (at approximately 32 feet). The existing
house is situated in an area of similar houses, most having
heights exceeding the new zoning height maximum. The new domers
will not inhibit or in any way detract from any neighboring
house views.
,a ,' % C I -
✓'
 L W— _
%
Mark Peterson
Wm G FirM.. III G I A
;
„
 :
'c;. ..,;i i _
_'' ;)S n, : -..
'-Iy`b.. _.... ;,yJ , .
'7,....`i_. j1 -_,
_ / ,
E%NIBIT 3
NARR7ITIVE STATEMENT
