NOVEMBER 6, 1987 <br />CITY OF EVERETT <br />PLANNING DEPPRTMENT <br />1 WOULD LIKE TO ASK THE CITY OF EVERETT FOR A VARIANCE. MY <br />ADDRESS IS 4626 GREELY, EVERETT, WASHINGTON. MY HOUSE FACES <br />GREELY STREET AND THE GARAGE GABLE END FACES BAILY AVENUE. <br />IN DESIGNING IMPROVEMENTS ON MY PROPERTY, I MADE INQUIRIES <br />CONCERNING THE CITY OF EVERETT SET PACKS. I WAS INFORMED THAT <br />I NEEDED LESS THAN A 10 FOOT SET BACK ON THE S'IDF_ PROPER'iY <br />LINE, BAILEY AVE. I PROCEEDED WITH IMPROVEMENTS ON THIS <br />IMFORMAT.ION. I HAVE SPENT NEARLY ON IMPROVEMENTS <br />THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY, BUT I LATER WAS DENIED A <br />PERMIT BY THE CITY, FOR A CARPORT. THE REASON FOR DENIAL WAS <br />A 20 FOOT SET BACK ON FRONTAGE BOUNDRIES. WITH MY HOUSE FACING <br />GREELY AND A GREELY ADDRESS I ASSUMED THAT GREELY ST. WAS MY <br />FRONTAGE ROAD. I BELIEVE THAT THE PERSON I TALKED WITH FROM <br />THE CITY BELIEVED THAT ALSO. <br />I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE PROPOSED CARPORT WILL NEGATIVELY <br />AFFECT THE NEIGHBORS OR THE TRAFFIC. THE CARPORT WAS MY <br />MAIN CONCERN FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT I HAVE ALREADY MADE. <br />A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP WOULD BE INCURRED BY ME. IF I COULD <br />NOT BUILD THE PROPOSED CARPORT. ON TI4E SITE PLAN, I HAVE <br />DRAWN, IT INDICATED THAT SEVERAL OWNERS, HAVE BUILT WITHIN <br />THIS :'_O FOOT SETBACK.
