Associated Farth Sciences, Ine
G//C//E&W1W
IIi.ILII mt jll.l0,,e;-25linu)-olsCIVICe
September 16, 2009
Project No. EE090259B
Pcmco Insurance Company
P.O. Box 778
Seattle, Washington 98111
Attention: Mr. Bill Houghton
Subject: Recommendations for Foundation Remediation
Anderson Residence
4704 Harbor Lane
Everett, Washington
Dear Mr. Houghton:
This letter contains recommendations for foundation repair at 4704 Harbor Lane in Everett,
Washington. Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) has previously documented damage to the
foundations as part of our July 31, 2009 letter titled "Water Line Leak, Site Reconnaissance and
Photo Documentation of Foundation Damages, Anderson Residence, 4704 Harbor lane,
Everett, Washington, Pemco Claim No. 5100342332."
Authorization mid Limitations
Authorization to proceed with this work was granted by Mr. Bill Houghton, representing
Pemco Insurance Company (Pemco). This letter has been prepared for the exclusive use of
Pcmco and their agents for specific application to this project. Within the limitations of scope,
schedule, and budget, our services have been performed in accordance with generally accepted
geotechnical engineering and engineering geology practices in effect in this area at the time our
letter was prepared. No other warranty, express or implied, is made.
Exploration Boring
AESI completed one exploration boring to a depth of 41.5 feet below existing site grades to
determine the consistency of subsurface soils. The exploration boring was completed by
advancing a hollow -stem auger with a track -mounted drill rig. During the drilling process,
samples were generally obtained at 5-foot-depth intervals. The exploration boring was
continuously observed and logged by a geotechnical engineer from our firm. The exploration
log attached to this letter is based on the field log, drilling action, and inspection of the
samples secured. The attached Figure 1 shows the general location of the site and Figure 2
shows the approximate location of our exploration boring.
Kirkland Everett ■ Tacoma
y25-827-77/01 425-259-U522 253-722-2992 g
wtvrv.aesgeo.cam Iy
