To ensure successful completion of this mitigation plan, a qualified biologist should
oversee the project. This will help to ensure the intent of the project is carried out.
The person overseeing the construction of the project should be responsible for:
• Ensuring the actual environmental/planting conditions at the site match those
used in the design.
• Guaranteeing that the approved plan is followed.
• Ensuring that delivered or salvaged plants are as specified and are alive upon
installation.
• Authorizing deviation from the compensatory mitigation plan if specifically
allowed in permit documents.
• Coordinating with agency staff on any alterations to the plan.
• Documenting and justifying any alterations to the plan in an as -built report.
6.2 RESTORATioN AREAS
As mitigation for the clearing on the site, native trees will be planted in the disturbed
portion of the site. The City typically requires replacement of trees with six-foot
trees and a 3:1 ratio. In lieu of the larger trees and in an effort to reduce morality,
Wetiand Resources, Inc. recommends using one -gallon trees at a 4:1 replacement
ratio. By Implementing the plan in this fashion, we would anticipate greater survival
and a reduction of maintenance driven foot traffic on the slope. Utilizing this ratio, a
total of 152 trees will be planted.
The following species are recommended for planting within the disturbed portion of
the site.
Tree Replocement
Common Name
Big -leaf maple
Douglas fir
Shore pine
White pine
Latin Name
Acer mocrophyllum
Pseudotsuga menziesii
Pinus contorts
Pinus monticola
Size
Quantity
1 gallon
18
1 gallon
18
1 gallon
58
1 gallon
58
As mitigation for the proposed slope restoration, all bare areas of the slope will be
grass seeded and planted with native trees and shrubs. The proposed planting will
occur up(, ial implementation of the slope stabilization measures recommended in
the Nelsr otechnical Report. The total number of plants is calculated by planting
Wetland Resources, Inc. 6 Anderson SFR - Restoration Plan
Will N 09126
9/10
