Shawish, PE
Bala Dodoye-Alali
RE: Anderson Landslide Repairs
Erosion Control System
4704Ilarbor Lane
Everett, Washington
NOA File No. 816909
This memo suuuuarizes our observations of the installation of the recent erosion control measures at the
Anderson property in Everett as recommended in our memo dated October 6, 2009.
We visited the site as the contractors were prepping the area that would receive the erosion control
matting. We observed that a silt fence was installed near the property line within the landslide scarp area.
fhc silt fence was buried into the ground and secured by metal stakes. We also observcc as the erosion
control matting was placed on the slope. The recommended CONTEChI TRM C-45 was not available,
and we approved the use of Vivax} C350 matting.
The matting was secured at the top by embedding it in a shallow trench and staking it using metal stakes.
The matting was rolled out and laid down as (lush with the ground as possible, and was generally staked
at intervals of G feet, based on the contours of the underlying ground. Based on sonic areas of loose soil,
the stakes varied in length from 3 feet to 5 feet long. Smaller pins were also used in difficult areas, such
as around existing tree and stumps to ensure a tighter fit.
