APPENDIX A FIELD EXPLORATION AND LABORATORY TESTING Mahan Raid"" 41N Bloch of Harbor Lane Everett, Waabiufftoa On November 13, 1"8, we performed our field exploration using a portable drill rig provided by CN DO". We explored subsurface soil conditions at the site by drilling 2 borings to a maximum depth of 14 feet below existing surface grades. The boring depths were limited to relatively shallow depths due to very hard drilling. The boring locations are shown on Figure 2. The boring locations were approximately determined by pacing 6om Imowe landmarks, such as adjacent roadways, survey mukers, and topographic features. The Boring Lop are presented on Figures A-2 and A-3. An engineering geologist from our office conducted the field exploration and classified the soil conditions encountered, maintained a log of each boning, obtained representative soil samples, and observed pertimsmt site features. All soil samples were visually classified in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). A copy of the USCS is shown on Figure A-1. Representative soil samples obtained from the borings were placed in sealed plastic bap and taken to our laboratory for further examination and testing. The moisture content of each sample was measured and is reported on the Boring Logs. Project No. T-41"
