Slope Stability, Erosion and Landslide Hazard
The stream is not ad.jacent to significant slopes, so slope stability and landslide
hszards are not considered issues.
Seismic Hazards
No seismic hazards are known to exist on the site relative to the st:eam corridor.
The development will have no significant impact on seismic hvards relativc ro the stream.
Strcams
'fhe City of Everctt hac classified the sitc as an environmentally sensitive area based
on the presencc of Merriil and Ring Creek (Strcam Category lll).
This report was prcpared in accordance with the rcquircments of Section 37 of the
Everett Zoning Codc to describe actions proposed to restore and protect the stream.
Restorntion Plan Overview
The report presents a two-phase plan for relocation ana restoration at aproximately
3,050 feet of Merrill and Ring Crcek, which is in a degradcd condition nd ::ucs not suppon
fish in the reach aJjacent to the subject property (Figure 1). The new alisnment would
allow the channel to connect to the existing nlet structure to the regional de:ntion pond.
Phase 1 would relocate approximately 1,800 feet of existing clianncl, beginning
approximately 75 feet south of the property and extending north to an xisting culvert
(Figure 2), by eaily fall of 1990. Vhaze 2 would relocate th remaining 1,250 feet of strcam
after completion of gravel mining, and is tentatively scheduled fr the summer of 1991.
= Approximately 800 to 900 feet of stream channel within the Phase 2 section flows
through a vegetated corridor, and relocation of this reach will take place as part of the
continued mining operation. For this report, it is assumed that Phase 2 of the restoration
project would be implemented after completion of gravel mining.

Bascline Information
ea
, Baseline intormation pertaining to Merrill and Ring Creek and Ihe site was gathered
,,,, by review of existing documenu and site visits during July 1990 uy JSA staif. The primary
document used to prepare this section was the "South Everett Drainage Basins Plan for
Basin Number 5, Merrill and Ring Crcek", prepared by Broam and Caldwell and the City
i.. of Everett.

a
b
