' CNA Architecture Group
12 i.pril 1991
W-7352
Page 2 .
This summary is presented for introductory purposes only, and should be used in
conjunction with the full text of this report. The project description, site conditions and
our deailed design recommendations are presented in the text of the report. The
exploration procedures and detailed exploration logs are presented in Appendix A.
Laboratory testing procedures and results are contained in Appendix e.
2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project site is in the southern portion of the former Merrill Creek Gravel Pit.located
west of Hardeyon Road and north of 75th Street S.W., in Everett, Washington. The site
is a rectangular shaped 9.4 acre lot, with approximately 1,000 feet of frontage along
Harder, ron Road by 540 feet to the west. The site topography is relatively flat with a
gernle upward slope to the south and a high steep slope bordering the site to the west.
There is an approximately 10 foot deep by foot across stream channel which parallels
Hardepson Road on the east margin of the property.
, 115
The proposed projec includes the construction of a single building with a total of
approximat:ly 5,0000 quare feet of building area. We understand the building to be a
tiltup concte wall structure with slab-on-grade concrete floors. Accessory paved
parking and trac areas would service the complex. Primary use would be for a
commercial laundry, with large washers and related equipment.
The purpose of this study v+as to establish general subsurface conditions at the site from
which conclusions and recommendations for foundation design and construction for the
project could'be formulated. The scope of work consisted of a field exploration
program, geotechnical engineering analyses, and report preparation. In the event of any
changes in the nature, design, or location of the facilities, the conclusions and
recommendations contained in this report should be reviewed and modified if necessary
to reflect the changes. This report has been prepared for the exclusive use of CNA
Architecture Group, Overall Laundry Service, Inc., and their agents, for specific
application to this project in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical
engineering practices.
