All requirementis con- <br />tained herein are in accordance with the following Welding <br />Codes and Standardsi <br />1.1.1 1979 AWS Code, D1.4 Sections 2, 3, 5 and 6- Welding <br />Qualification. <br />1.1.2 1970 UBC Code, Section 26-8. <br />1.1.3 1980 WABO Standard 27.00, Section 27.134 and Section <br />27.13iz. <br />1.2 The welding procedure lists the class of matez•ial, welding <br />process and other essential variables as required by AWS D1.4. <br />2.0 W�;LDING PROCEDURE <br />2.1 Processs <br />This procedure is qualified for manual Shielded Metal Arc <br />Welding (SMAW) lst and 2nd pass as well as completing the <br />weld out. <br />2.2 Materiali <br />Material shall be A-615 Grade 60 #6 Reinforcing Stee] conform- <br />ing to approved ASTM Specifications for 60,000 Minimum yieid <br />strength material. <br />2,3 Diameter and 69a11 Thickness: <br />This procedure is quali£ied for Lap Welding of J/6 Reinforcing <br />Steel, inclusive. Thickness qualified covers #6 Reinforcing <br />Steel, inclusive. This procedure is qualified with �/G Re- <br />inforcing Steel. <br />2,4 Joint Designi <br />2,4.1 Sketch Number 1 shows the joint design and fit-up <br />dimensions. <br />2,4,2 This procedure is qualifi.ed with a 2 inch Lap I'lare <br />V Groove. No backing to Ue used. <br />2,5 Filler Metal: <br />A minimum of 4 passes, root and balance oiit, shall be made <br />using Low Hydro�en E-11018, Mild S�eel Spec. 5.1 and 5•5 <br />filler metal classification, co��forming to AWS D1.1 - 1981. <br />- ---------� <br />r <br />t <br />J <br />
