Gene Fosheim
P. O. box 5234
Everett, Wa. 98206
20fi-337-1317
2426 Harisoq garage #302-95.
July 11, 1995
Tim Tyter,
OIG -o '[►.w,rp
7I1ys{,-
 f
In 1994 I worked with Nlike Palacios with the city of Everett pluutic.g department
in obtaining a pertnit to replace the existing garage at 2426 Hemson with a new garage.
After I provided proof that the garage was of proper age, he visited the site and canfirmed
the siu of the edsting garage to be 22 £cet wide and 20 fcet deep. I was given a pertnit to
tear down the edsting garage ent. ,eplace it with a new one on exactly the same footprint
with a 10 foot setback from the alley rtght of way.
I permanenNy marked the :ur comers of the edsting garage with wooden stakes
driven into the ground. The garage was demolished and heuled away without disturfiing
the IocaUng stakes. A new wncrete pad was poured per the approved plans in the exact
location of the four locating atakes but shifted 10 fat east from the alley as permitted.
Care was teken to make sure the new foundation was exactly the same distence from the
north and south propeRies as was the original garage. The new foundation was inspected
and approvtd by the building depaztment and constnrction continued on the framing.
After talldng to the building department the two car doors were replaed by one
16' x 7' door to code. The roof was also rotated 90 degrees with permission of the
building department and changed to a 6-12 pitch with 6" eves to more closely match the
existing historic house.
I feel that the city of Everett building and planning depertments did a very good
job in workir►g with me to obtain this permit and in the inspection of this project. I will
not hold them rosponsible for eny problems I have with the naghbo mplaints about
this project. —'
Gene Fosheim
.:,...;.,..:, _. ,.. _.._ -
- ,_ -...,,_._ . ...._,.
