HOUSING CODE INSPECTION REPORT FROM: MARIAN DENT, CITY OF EVERETT, HOUSING INSPECTOR DATE: Mazch 1, 1994 SUBJ: 2506 Highland Ave., Everett, WA The Building Inspection Division received a complaint from the tenants of this house regarding its condition. An inspection was conducted and listed below are some of the deficiencies noted pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code. Thesr, deficiencies may be sufficient to declare the building to be substandard pursuant to Chapter il of the Uniform Housing Code and/or may be considered dangerous. 1. The roof of the house is covered with aluminum and there is no ventilation for the attic space. On the west side of the house the roof sheathing has become wet and warped causing the aluminum roof covering to warp. The warp in the roofing allows rain in which runs down the inner wall system which never drys out and caused rot in the wall and the floor of the adjacent room. There is mold on the outer wall of the room. 2. The roof is deteriorated and rotted. 3. There is an electrical extension wrd, interior type wrd, which is being used on the outside of the house. The cord is plugged into the exterior light fixture on the front porch then extends p�st the decking of the porch to an area under the house. According to the tenant, there is some sort of a heating device at the end of this extension cord to heat the water pipes under the house. 4. 5. � The rain gutters are full of debris. The pier and post foundation is deteriorated and rotteci causing the floor in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry area to slope. The electrical outlet in the bathroom has reversed neutral and hot wires. The electrical service is old, and unstable. The service supply wires run through the side of the house. There is no drop service or weather head for the wires. Tlie electrical service for the house at 2504 Highland is serviced from 2506 Highland which is a fused service. The tenant of 2504 Highland dces not have access to the fuse box. The electrical service and system is considered unstable and hazardous.
