RESOLUTION NO. 5170 <br /> A RESOLUTION changing the speed limit on State Route 99 (Evergreen Way), Center Road to <br /> Everett Mall Way from 50 mph to 45 mph. <br /> WHEREAS,EMC 46.080.050 grants City Council the authority to alter speed limits; and <br /> WHEREAS, projected development activity and associated traffic growth will increase potential <br /> congestion; and <br /> WHEREAS, traffic engineering staff have conducted speed studies and recommend the requested <br /> changes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation has conducted a review of the <br /> speed studies and have concurred with the City's request to reduce the speed limit; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Transportation Advisory Committee has reviewed the staff recommendations <br /> and recommends that the speed limit change be authorized. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT that the speed limit on State Route 99 (Evergreen Way), Center Road to Everett Mall <br /> Way be set at 45 miles per hour and that the City Traffic Engineer shall order and install such signs, <br /> markings and devices as are necessary to affect this change. <br /> Ade <br /> Coun erson Introducin_,a olution <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this 14thday of March , 2002 <br /> C <br /> a -‘ a <br /> Council P ident <br />
